The Charlatans and Echo And The Bunnymen have been added to the bill for this year’s V Festival
V Festival will run simultaneously in Weston Park, Staffordshire and Hylands Park, Essex between August 22-23. Other acts newly confirmed are Sigma, Wretch 32, Hilltop Hoods, Lawson and Indiana.
Charlatans Tim Burgess said of what will be their eighth appearance at the festival: “Having been lucky enough to be part of the first ever V Festival line up in ’96 we’re thrilled to be playing its 20th anniversary year.”
Already announced are headliners Kasabian, Calvin Harris, Sam Smith and Stereophonics, plus Tom Jones, Chvrches, Ellie Goulding, George Ezra and Jessie Ware.

The Charlatans will also play this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival and Tramlines festival. They released their 12th album ‘Modern Nature’ in January.
Speaking to NME earlier this year, Burgess spoke of the band’s late drummer Jon Brookes. He said: “Before he died Jon was very keen to get the album going and kind of had his drums at the front door ready to go.”
