Band reunions aren’t supposed to go as well as Dinosaur Jr.’s. In the years since the original trio reformed, they’ve released some music that stands right alongside their classics from back in the day. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from them this time around; their last collection, Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not, came out back in 2016. Given, there were solo endeavors in the interim and we partially have the pandemic to blame for the long wait, since the group had an album originally slated for the middle of 2020. But here’s the good news: That album, Sweep It Into Space, is coming out in April.

Sebadoh: – “I Will”
submitted by Nick Jul 24th 2013 02:00 pm (stereogum.com)
Lou Barlow formed the great ’90s indie trio Sebadoh when he was still Dinosaur Jr.’s bass player, and he really focused on the project after getting kicked out of Dino Jr., releasing a string of classics. Barlow has kept Sebadoh intermittently active as a live band in recent years, and they released the EP The [...]

Death Cab for Cutie: Electric Anthology Project Of Death Cab For Cutie – “Soul Meets Body”
submitted by Nick Jul 2nd 2013 04:00 pm (stereogum.com)
You may have heard of The Electronic Anthology Project last year when Brett Netson (of Built To Spill and Caustic Resin) used his electronic side-project to reimagine Dinosaur Jr. as gorgeous synth pop. Now he’s done the same to Death Cab For Cutie. This might seem like a less strange pairing considering Gibbard is one [...]

Sebadoh: Counting Down: Sebadoh Albums From Worst To Best
submitted by Nick May 17th 2013 06:00 pm (stereogum.com)
Sebadoh were something of the “Beautiful Losers” of the ’90s indie scene. Lou Barlow emerged from Northamption hardcore act Deep Wound, and later Dinosaur Jr., having famously been acrimoniously dismissed from the latter. He’d certainly borrow from J Mascis’s pop instincts, as well as Deep Wound’s wonton aggression, throughout Sebado...
