Katy Perry won the award for best female singer at the 2013 MTV EMA music awards in Amsterdam on Sunday, pipping Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus to the post and collecting her third EMA prize in the process. With the three pop divas in contention, the prize for best female was the most closely watched battle at the Viacom-owned music network's 20th annual European awards ceremony. Cyrus, who was awarded best video for "Wrecking Ball", capitalized on her infamous "twerking" encounter with musician Robin Thicke at the U.S. Video Music Awards in August, walking the red carpet in a bold mini dress with the words "Please Stop Violence" wrapped tightly around her hip. British-Irish boy band One Direction had a good night, taking the prize for best pop, while Harry Styles, known as much for his singing in the band as for his celebrity girlfriends, was awarded best style.

3OH!3, the duo behind such ’00s trash-pop hits like “Don’t Trust Me” and the Katy Perry-featuring “Starstrukk,” are back. Their first new single in four years is a collaboration with 100 Gecs, another duo who clearly have an affection for the kind of digital ruckus that 3OH!3 were makin...

She made hits. That was the whole premise of Katy Perry -- that and stirring up controversy in ways that often sent palms flying toward foreheads. At the peak of her commercial dominance, Perry presented a playful, colorful, hyper-stylized version of pop at its most plastic. A former Christian pop singer whose breakthrough single proclaimed&...

Katy Perry has released a new single called "Daisies." It's billed as the lead single to her fifth album, the follow-up to 2017's Witness. Her new album will be out 8/14. "Daisies" is a sentimental song filled with scratchy acoustic guitars that lead into glistening synths. "They said I'm going nowhere, tried to…
