Madina Lake's bassist Matthew Leone has updated fans on his health following last year's brutal attack which left him seriously injured.Speaking to Noisecreep, the bassist explained that he is: "getting better, but I have to live with the fact that I'll always have some kind of health issue because of the attack.""One of the worst things is living with vertigo," he says. "It's a bizarre condition and it really kicked my butt at first. It was intolerable. When I would lay down to go to bed, it felt like I just kept laying down, further and further like some kind of nightmare.""There's also a nagging feeling and reminder around the area where I had my surgery," he adds. "It won't let me forget. I'm doing all sorts of exercises to keep my memory up. And then there's the whole part about being sensitive to light and sound. That's fun!"Matthew goes on to explain that being in a band, performing and releasing adrenaline has helped him fight his symptoms."The important thing has been for me to keep working on myself and heal from the inside. I've learned that I can't play the victim card," he explains. "It's just life and all you can do is to keep fighting. If I had one piece of advice for anyone going through something similar to what I went through is to not take everything so seriously."Madina Lake will release their new album WWII on September 12.Tweet
