Former Warrant vocalist Jani Lane was dead in a Californian hotel room last night (August 11). He was 47 years old.The singer - who parted ways with Warrant in 2008 - was discovered by police in a Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office is currently conducting a report into his death. "We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Jani's passing," reads a statement from his former bandmates. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Jani was a very important part of our lives for a long time. We will always be incredibly proud of the music we created together. He was a true talent and will be missed by all of us."Many stars paid tribute to the late frontman, who is survived by two daughters."I just heard the sad news about Jani Lane," said Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx. "So hard to swallow when people have kids. RIP.""It truly saddens me to lose Jani Lane," said Steel Panther vocalist Michael Starr. "You were my inspiration for what I love to do: ROCK!""Sad to hear about his passing," wrote Fozzy vocalist Chris Jericho. "Jani was a good guy and one of the best songwriters in the late '80s.
