Kiss are hard at work in the studio working on the follow-up to 2009's Sonic Boom. The rock legends are already eight songs into the new release which is tentatively due out next year.Speaking to Pennsylvania's The Express-Times, guitarist Tommy Thayer has revealed that the writing of the new material is "going phenomenally!""We've been in the studio for several weeks," says Tommy. "This is definitely some of the best stuff Kiss has ever recorded."The guitarist believed the new songs are more "riff-oriented" than their last collection."The idea [with Sonic Boom] was to create a classic Kiss record going back to the roots of the early records, and really try and capture that vibe," said Tommy. "I think we did and then some. On this record, we're taking that to the next step."
