Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has said that the rumours about Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor becoming their new vocalist have been "been blown out of proportion".However, the guitarist will neither confirm nor deny that Taylor is the replacement for former frontman Scott Weiland who acrimoniously left the rock supergroup in 2008."A couple of people have said one thing or another, but it's been blown out of proportion," Slash told Australia's Courier Mail. "I've made no comment on that one."Meanwhile, Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan has lavished praise on Taylor calling him "voice of a whole new generation.""Not only does he have a great voice, he's got the ability to tap the dark stuff and have it be real," said McKagan. "Great lead singers have the ability to tap that. No inhibitions helps as well. [Former Guns N' Roses bandmate] Axl Rose and Scott Weiland are two of the best frontmen ever. Corey Taylor is one of those guys as well. He can tap it.""He is a bad dude though," he added. "I like him as a human being and a singer. He's the voice of a whole new generation."
