Iron Maiden, Muse, Them Crooked Vultures and Green Day were celebrating last night (February 13) after winning big at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards at Los Angeles' Staples Center.Iron Maiden beat Korn, Lamb Of God, Megadeth and Slayer to walk away with the award for Best Metal Performance for El Dorado, while Muse fended off tough competition from Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Jeff Beck and Tom Petty to win the Best Rock Album award for The Resistance.Them Crooked Vultures beat Alice In Chains, Ozzy Osbourne, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots in the Best Hard Rock Performance category for New Fang, and Green Day picked up the Best Musical Show Album award for American Idiot: The Musical's OST.Paramore, who were up for the Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for The Only Exception, lost out to US rockers Train, and frontwoman Hayley Williams, who was nominated for the Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals award for Airplanes Part II, lost out to The Imagine Project's Imagine.And sadly former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant lost out to former Beatle Paul McCartney in the Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance category, and to Mavis Staples in the Best Americana Album category for his latest album band Of Joy.
