Dwayne Johnston, the former WWE wrestler turned legitimate movie star, is in negotiations to star in the sequel to Journey To The Centre Of The Earth. Brendan Fraser, who starred in the first adaptation of Jules Verne's classic novel, as previously indication his intention to drop out of the sequel, entitled Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, leaving studio New Line to look to Johnston. The script, based loosely on Verne’s The Mysterious Island, has been written by Richard Outten plus Brian and Mark Gunn. Brad Peyton, who directed the second Cats & Dogs film, is onboard to shoot the movie in 3D.
