Yesterday we reported on the internet campaign to make the humble pickle more popular than Canadian rockers Nickelback. The Can This Pickle Get More Fans Than Nickleback? (sic) Facebook page has currently attracted the support of over 1.5 million users of the social networking website Facebook, while Nickelback’s own official Facebook page has just 1.4 million fans.In the story we reported that Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger had allegedly contacted the campaign’s founder, Coral Anne, threatening to have her group shutdown. However, Coral Anne has said the alleged conversation did not take place and that it was just an image someone had doctored and uploaded to her group.“I have had no correspondence with Chad Kroeger or anyone affiliated with Nickelback,” she said. “Anyone who says so is just mistaken by pictures that were posted on the site of someone with what was likely a fake account.”
