As Scott noted the other day, the new Goldfrapp sounds like the Pointer Sisters. This is true. It's the opening song from the British group's fifth studio album Head First, which follows 2008's Seventh Tree. And, as the cloudy pastel Alison Goldfrapp dreamscape cover pic (and lettering) suggests, on top of the Sisters, there's a hint of Xanadu-style Olivia Newton-John/ELO going on here, too.Continue reading New Goldfrapp - "Rocket"...

Röyksopp are nearing the end of their Profound Mysteries project, which so far has encompassed two full-length albums. A third and final one will be released in November, and they announced it a few weeks back alongside a pair of tracks, “Speed King” and “The Night,” the latter featuring Alison Goldfrapp.
This year, the Norwegian duo Röyksopp have embarked on an ambitious project called Profound Mysteries. Two full-length volumes have been released so far, one in April and one in August, and between them they featured collaborations with Susanne Sundfør, Astrid S, Karen Harding, and more.
