Paramore beat off stiff competition from Ian Brown, Newton Faulkner and Madonna to top this week's UK album charts.The Tennessee pop-punks' third studio album, Brand New Eyes, knocked The Queen Of Pop's 34-track Best Of collection, Celebration, off the top spot when the charts were revealed yesterday (Sunday October 4).Brand New Eyes also topped the charts in Ireland and Australia.“ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?,” wrote an excited Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams on her Twitter account. “We debuted #1 in UK, Ireland, and Australia... What is happening!? Thanks to everyone who picked up the record. AHHH!!!”In related chart news, Muse slipped from Number Two to Number Five with their latest album, The Resistance, Alice In Chains debuted at 19 with Black Gives Way To Blue while fellow grunge titans Pearl Jam slipped from nine to 27 with Backspacer and Southern rock god fathers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, debuted at 36 with their new long player, God & Guns.
