We gave you some information and our assurances on the Pavement reunion yesterday, but there were still plenty of skeptics. Well, here goes: The band is, in fact, reuniting for a one-time-only tour in 2010. The lineup for the tour is Mark Ibold, Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich, and Steve West, which means Gary Young's hanging out at home. Matador notes: "Please be advised this tour is not a prelude to additional jaunts and/or a permanent reunion." As we mentioned, the first show takes place in NYC on 9/21/10 at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. Yes, 2010, but a pre-sale begins tomorrow (9/18) at 10AM EDT. We have more details on that via Matador, along with a couple of vintage MP3s to get you in the mood.Continue reading Pavement Confirm Reunion Tour, First Show Ticket Info...

The utterly chill and dadded-out indie veterans Real Estate do not strike me as the most natural touring partners for the frenetic, experimental, nouveau-hip Water From Your Eyes. But the bands were on the road together this month, and one thing they apparently have in common is a love for Pavement. Onstage Sunday at Atlanta’s Variety ...
Last September, I watched Pavement perform at the National’s Homecoming festival and wondered whether it would be the ’90s indie-rock icons’ last show ever after a reunion tour that spanned well over a year. I guess not. The Seattle festival Bumbershoot just announced its 2024 lineup, and Pavement are on the bill.
The strange saga of Pavement’s Terror Twilight-era B-side “Harness Your Hopes” has taken another turn. Back in 1999, when it first appeared on Pavement’s Spit On A Stranger EP, the song was not a noteworthy part of the band’s catalog, but two decades years later, it somehow got caught up in Spoti...
The new single from reunited pop-punk favorites Midtown‘s covers EP We’re Too Old To Write New Songs So Here’s Some Old Songs We Didn’t Write is a remake of Pavement’s Crooked Rain classic “Cut Your Hair.” If slacker-indie legends Pavement are not the first band you expect to ...
