We don't have an exact release date, but Devendra's new label, Warner/Reprise, sent out a stream of What Will Be a couple days ago, so we do have the track list. We also know Banhart's sixth album runs for 50:31 and were told "the stuff sounds wicket good..." (Thanks for the tip, Lars.) The 14-track collection follows 2007's Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon and was co-produced by DB and Band Of Bees' Paul Butler. Devendra Banhart’s deeply strange, oddly compelling video for “Mondo Taurobolium,” a song from his 2013 album Mala, is a trippy animation that takes place entirely in a world of cartoon ducks and wolves. Banhart voice-acts the main role, as a disaffected movie-star duck, while actual movie star Rose McGowan plays hi...
“Für Hildegard Von Bingen,” one of the best tracks off Devendra Banhart’s new album, was named after the German saint in the Catholic sense, though the new video is concerned with a different idea of that word. The story follows a nun who secretly worships the art world of the city behind the back of [...]
