When Bradford Cox's server got hacked, a version of the unreleased Atlas Sound LP Logos spread all over the web. As he told us recently, that was just a draft; the real LP is a far cry from Let The Blind..., less laptop/bedroom pop, more collaborative, more global. That previous LP recalled some of the spirit if not the sound of Panda Bear's stunning Person Pitch, so the news that Noah Lennox would contribute to Logos made sense spiritually, and also made sense because the boys are bros. Cox detailed the genesis of the collab in a recent interview with P4K: I toured for a period in Europe with Animal Collective, whose band dynamic was very inspirational to be around. On the bus, we often played improvised iPod games. We would take turns formulating a theme or unifying concept and then play three songs. The goal would be for everyone to try and figure out the theme. During one of these games, someone played 'What Am I Going to Do' by the Dovers. I was amazed at the hook-- a weird organ thing with drums and electric bass. I mentioned to Noah [Lennox] that someone should really sample that riff. He agreed and he taught me a little about sampling and matching up beats. This ended up as the collaborative effort 'Walkabout'As we learn today, the collaborative effort "Walkabout" is a total jam, equal parts Bradford, Brian Wilson, and "Bros." Great start to the LP, but also maybe one day we should petition for a Panda Cox album. Continue reading New Atlas Sound (Feat. Noah Lennox) - "Walkabout"...

The B-Side's a somber harmonica-lined campfire-side track called "The Screens" that'd work well with what Cox has been doing lately in the more stripped down moments of his Atlas Sound live s...

"Reminder" appears on the six-song Logos Bonus CD, but the tense, smeary, and totally ghostly pop track would work just as well on the album proper. Listen.
Bradford Cox to release 'Logos' next week (October 19)
At this point Bradford Cox releases so much free Atlas Sound material on his blog there has to be a good reason for piecing a bunch of new songs together and expecting you to pay for it. Who knows how he decides when to turn a sketch into a finished piece, but that the 11-song Logos, his second proper Atlas Sound full-length, flows together so g...
Deerhunter played the La Route Du Rock a little over a week ago. While there -- there being St. Malo on Brittany's Emerald Cost, France -- La Blogotheque recorded the Atlanta group smoking-up the festival stage. Making the most of the trek, La Blog also captured Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox offering up a stripped-down "Kid Climax," a song fr...
