So far it seem like folks' favorite No One's First And You're Next-related track was the slippery 6-minute "Whale Song." Well satisfied fans, the mid-tempo Big Easy horn howler "Perpetual Motion Machine" takes Brock and Co. into a pretty different direction. You can hear it over at SPIN. As far as context, the eight-song No One's First And You're Next is out 8/4 via Epic. "Perpetual Motion Machine" will be backed by "History Sticks To Your Feet" on the official 7" single. Modest Mouse are on tour this summer. Johnny Marr's busy with Cribs, of course, so they'll be joined by ex-Grandaddy guitarist Jim Fairchild instead.

Last year, the new music festival FORMAT held its inaugural edition in the Ozarks town of Bentonville, Arkansas. This year, FORMAT is coming back with another pretty-impressive lineup. This year’s FORMAT goes down 9/22-24, and its headliners are Alanis Morissette, LCD Soundsystem, and Leon Bridges.
