Every Time I Die frontman Keith Buckley has defended the band's decision to feature a guest contribution from Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz on their forthcoming album."Pete has been a friend to Every Time I Die since we formed this band in the late 90's," says Buckley in a statement. "He's an old hardcore kid like the rest of us. In the years we've known him, he's come to be one of the most influential, creative and controversial faces in the music world and those are characteristics we respect immensely. "Every Time I Die has never been one to shy away from controversy and including him on our record is a way to show everyone who listens to us that we are unconcerned with stringently adhering to mores and expectations. We have always been true to our friends and ourselves and I will take full advantage of being able to collaborate with artists whose talents I respect. "Pete's an amazing writer, vocalist and dude, as are [Dillinger Escape Plan frontman] Greg Puciato and [The Bronx vocalist] Matt Caughtran and they all killed it in the studio. I'm proud to add them to the list of influential musicians/close friends I've been lucky enough to work with..."The band's latest album, New Junk Aesthetic, will be released on September 14 through Epitaph.

More than 20 years ago, Buffalo’s Every Time I Die started off as a straight-up hardcore band. Over the years, their sound moved into a polished metallic attack, and the band became hugely popular. Every Time I Die haven’t released an album since 2016’s Low Teens, and plenty has changed in the time since then. Guita...
