Dashboard Confessional has posted one of the covers from their recently announced tour-only covers compilation, The Wire Tapes: Volume One . They also released their latest album, The Shade of Poison Trees this week. The song is Weezer favorite, "El Scorcho" taken from their hugely influential album, 1996's Pinkerton. This is Chris Carraba's second Weezer cover, with his version of "Say it Ain't So" appearing on Further Seems Forever's Hope This Finds You Well.

Dashboard Confessional has posted a new song from their upcoming full length and return to the solo acoustic format. The record is titled The Shade of Poison Trees and is due out October 02, 2007. It is the follow-up to Dusk and Summer which was released in 2006.

With their next record not even on the street yet, Dashboard Confessional has apparently written 14 new songs for the follow up. According to a recent Billboard interview, Chris Carraba: "there's a moodiness to these songs, not necessarily a somber thing, but there's a heaviness to these songs."
