The sixth installment of Bradford Cox's virtual 7" series dropped early this morning. The hypnotic plinky keyboard part on "Solo, Or 'The Square'" recalls a Caribbean steel band, and Bradford's heavily reverbed vocals have an appropriately laid back vibe. There are even some winking, lazy "do do da da"s halfway through. It flows nicely into its b-side, a scuzzy pop song titled "Memorial Corridor" that only really gets going after two minutes of synth squiggles.Continue reading New Atlas Sound - "Solo, Or 'The Square'"...

"Walkabout" isn't the best track on Atlas Sound's second proper full-length Logos, but it is the song that features a member of Animal Collective, which is likely why it got out there first. Truth is, it's kind of album's curve ball moment. Even though its more skeletal than some of Logos (see, for instance, the show-stopping "Quick Canal"), the...

Bradford Cox, for his part, has r...

Looks like longstanding electro-lined UK dream-pop duo will be doing so, too Atlas Sound and Broadcast begin a month-long North American trek in mid October. (For anyone who pays attention to Cox & Co's blog, this pairing shouldn't be a surprise.) It's Broadcast's first tou...
When Bradford Cox's server got hacked, a version of the unreleased Atlas Sound LP Logos spread all over the web. As he told us recently, that was just a draft; the real LP is a far cry from Let The Blind..., less laptop/bedroom pop, more collaborative, more global. That previous LP recalled some of the spirit if not the sound of Panda Bear's stu...
Outside of all those free downloads and EPs, Atlas Sound is following Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel with the second proper full-length Logos. According to a note from Cox written on July 4th, the 11-track collection's more in the spirit of Microcastle than his past Atlas Sound work.My last album was a bedroom laptop type t...
