Placebo have finished working on the follow-up to 2006's Meds with producer David Bottrill [Muse, Coheed And Cambria, Silverchair).The record, which will be titled battle For The Sun, will hit stores in the UK on June 8 through the [PIAS] Entertainment Group.“We’ve made a record about choosing life, about choosing to live, about stepping out of the darkness and into the light,” explains frontman Brian Molko. “Not necessarily turning your back on the darkness because it’s there, it’s essential; it’s a part of who you are, but more about the choice of standing in the sunlight instead.” “I’m very optimistic about the future,” he added. “I’m in a positive frame of mind and a good head space. It’s very exciting. There’s a lot of life in the old dog just yet.”The title track will receive an exclusive first play on Zane Lowe's radio show on BBC Radio 1 tomorrow night (March 17) at 7PM.
