McSweeney's has a new book out, Be a Nose!, anthologizing some of the private sketchbook drawings of Art Spiegelman, the Pulitzer Prize-winning comics artist. In addition to showcasing some of Spiegelman's visuals, this animated clip also features a mordant psych-groove instrumental backing by Pat Carney of the Black Keys. Vintage-sounding breakbeats you might expect to find sampled on some lost trip-hop or abstract hip-hop record help soak up guitar fuzz, heavy bass, and droning organ as the author of landmark graphic novel Maus (and creator of Wacky Packs and the Garbage Pail Kids) follows his Nose.[Be a Nose! is out now via McSweeney's]
