Instead of cybernetic walls of guitars, the New York trio's "Zero" puts Karen O's ever-expressive voice-- vulnerable murmurs, tough-girl sneers, breathy whimpers, sultry come-ons, Prince-ly high notes, etc.-- over vintage synths and a steady modern-rock beat.
