The indie-store-friendly Record Store Day promotions are stacking up, with exclusives from Sonic Youth, Beck, Jay Reatard, and Pavement already in the works.And here's another one for the April 18 extravaganza: The Thermals have paired with Kill Rock Stars labelmates Thao With the Get Down Stay Down for an exclusive 1000-print split 7".The Thermals side features two demos from their forthcoming album, Now We Can See (out April 7 via KRS) and the Thao side boasts a new song and a Lovin' Spoonful cover. Record stores want you...to buy cool stuff from them that you can't get anywhere else this April 18.Both the Thermals and Thao have rock shows coming up, too. The Thermals are currently in the UK, but will head back to the U.S. for a few Pacific Northwest dates in April (followed by a full American tour, which they're sorting out now). read more
