Bummer that the video for "An Eluardian Instance", a song taken from Of Montreal's Skeletal Lamping, is showing now only on Rolling Stone's postage stamp-sized player, but that's what were working with. If you squint a little bit, you can make out a long series of still photographs showing a rather surreal storybook being brought to life. We see a girl in a bright dress and funky sunglasses as she makes her way along a beach, digs for magical clams, builds a kite, and confronts a psychedelic mountain goat. Add lots of terrifically zany art direction and you have a fantastic reflection of Of Montreal's music. of Montreal work harder than you. With more ideas than some bands have in a career stuffed into Hissing Fauna..., Skeletal Lamping, and their dazzling live shows, it would be OK for oM to set aside the instruments for a minute. Of course that is not how oM have ever worked, and so we are already seeing new songs on this tour, with the gaps in da...
While we were grossly sweltering in the desert, of Montreal enjoyed perfect weather in our neighborhood for a sold-out three-night run at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg. Although it would be more fun to see what Kevin would wear in the desert. These YouTube videos suggest we missed a theatrical (though relatively tame) stage show from KB's toy f...
