Under most circumstances, a five-year woodie would be cause for alarm and medical attention, but the fifth anniversary of mtvU's Woodie Awards is mostly cause for bad double entendres. We hope all of this year's winners grab their Woodies and ride them to even greater heights of professional success. QED.As in previous years, the list of 2008 Woodie Awards nominees is populated with acts who appeal to more than just college students: Kanye West, Gnarls Barkley, Lil Wayne, No Age, Paramore, MGMT, etc. But the real story is the list of artists performing at the actual ceremony, which takes place at NYC's Roseland Ballroom on November 12. That list consists of Vampire Weekend (nominated in the "Best Video Woodie" category), Santogold ("Woodie of the Year"), Lykke Li ("Breaking Woodie"), and pop-punks All Time Low (also filed under "Breaking Woodie").Voting for the Woodie Awards continues online through November 7, and the television premiere of the event will be November 19 on mtvU.
