Like a Down Under, rock version of Rock the Bells, St Jerome's Laneway Festival will travel to various cities around Australia once again next year. The 2009 installment of the festival goes down smack dab in the middle of the Australian summer, kicking off January 31 in Brisbane and wrapping things up February 8 in Sydney. The other cities covered on the festival tour are Melbourne, Adelaide, and, for the first time, Perth.Thus far, the Laneway 2009 bill includes the Hold Steady, Stereolab, Girl Talk, No Age, Four Tet, Jay Reatard, Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg, El Guincho, Architecture in Helsinki, Born Ruffians, the Drones, Daedelus, Buraka Som Sistema (DJ/MC set), Cut Off Your Hands, Harmonic 33 offshoot Harmonic 313, Port O'Brien, the Temper Trap, Still Flyin', and Tim Fite, among others.
