Bandstand Busking is one of many websites shooting bands performing in an unusual setting. Only in this case, the setting isn't so unusual. The London-based project puts groups inside the bandstands that populate the city's parks. As the website says, "There are loads of bandstands in parks across London, and most of them are looking fairly tattered from lack of use. When did you last see/hear one surrounded by hordes excited by the sounds? ...well we hadn't so we decided to do what we could to change that, to fill the parks once more (at least for a wee while every couple of weeks) with some talented people capable of carrying a tune or two."A noble undertaking. The latest episode finds Of Montreal in Regent's Park doing two tracks from Skeletal Lamping and one from Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?, and I'll be damned if they don't all sound pretty great stripped-down and acoustic."Id Engager" "An Eluardian Instance" "Heimdalsgate Like a Promethean Curse"

It’s easy to take Kevin Barnes for granted. Over thirteen full-lengths and just about as many changes in style, of Montreal have refused to sit still for almost two decades. Everyone has their favorite oM era — mine’s Satanic Panic through Skeletal Lamping — but, above all, the band has always possessed a ...
