Bandstand Busking is one of many websites shooting bands performing in an unusual setting. Only in this case, the setting isn't so unusual. The London-based project puts groups inside the bandstands that populate the city's parks. As the website says, "There are loads of bandstands in parks across London, and most of them are looking fairly tattered from lack of use. When did you last see/hear one surrounded by hordes excited by the sounds? ...well we hadn't so we decided to do what we could to change that, to fill the parks once more (at least for a wee while every couple of weeks) with some talented people capable of carrying a tune or two."A noble undertaking. The latest episode finds Of Montreal in Regent's Park doing two tracks from Skeletal Lamping and one from Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?, and I'll be damned if they don't all sound pretty great stripped-down and acoustic."Id Engager" "An Eluardian Instance" "Heimdalsgate Like a Promethean Curse"

Glam stalwarts of Montreal recently posted a new song called “Wintered Debts” on their website, and it’s a seven-minute track that moves from acoustic lilt to quirked-out orchestral pop. They didn’t include any info on the song, but the oM fan site the Booty Patrol believes that it’s the first of...

Last week, we posted video of Arcade Fire’s Win Butler playing (pretty impressively, from the look of things) in a Toronto charity basketball tournament, sharing the court with a few actual pros. His bandmate and brother Will also played, and photographer Susan Moss of Montreal Buzz was there to document it. Check out her photos [...]
