On Monday, October 20, the Nightingale Concert Hall on the University of Nevada campus in Reno will play host to Joanna Newsom, who will perform in support of Illinois Senator and Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama. The show is free, and open to folks in possession of either Nevada student IDs or driver's licenses. Ambitious fans, however, can secure VIP tickets on Saturday (October 18) or the day of the show in front of the campus' Joe Crowley Student Union from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is intended to encourage Nevada voters to participate in the state's early voting program, which runs from October 18 through Halloween. As you may have noticed, Joanna's certainly not the only musician giving it up for Senator Government. We ran down a whole bunch of Obama events last week, and those Beastie Boys recently added a few more dates to their swing state tour.
