As the release date of Deerhoof's tenth album approached, the band flooded us with Offend Maggie material. A week and change ago we talked about the fully realized post-sheet music "Fresh Born." Before that Satomi and Greg harmonized about phone calls and unrequited love on "Offend Maggie" and even earlier, the group showed us "The Tears And Music Of Love." Hopefully you still have some room on your plate, because Offend Maggie is out today and, accordingly, here's the Clyde Petersen and Forrest Baum-directed video for "Chandelier Searchlight."

Nick Sylvester is the guy in charge of Godmode Records, a small New York indie that’s been releasing very, very good music for a couple of years. He’s also a former rock critic and a good friend. So I’m very excited that Sylvester is producing La Isla Bonita, the forthcoming album from the long-running indie-skronk ...

Deerhoof have a tremendously admirable work ethic. As a fan, you’re almost guaranteed a new album every year or two. Their last, Breakup Song, came out in 2012, and now, right on time, Deerhoof have announced that their new album, La Isla Bonita, will be released in November. The album is produced by Nick Sylvester [...]
