As the release date of Deerhoof's tenth album approached, the band flooded us with Offend Maggie material. A week and change ago we talked about the fully realized post-sheet music "Fresh Born." Before that Satomi and Greg harmonized about phone calls and unrequited love on "Offend Maggie" and even earlier, the group showed us "The Tears And Music Of Love." Hopefully you still have some room on your plate, because Offend Maggie is out today and, accordingly, here's the Clyde Petersen and Forrest Baum-directed video for "Chandelier Searchlight."

-- According to AllHipHop.com, 50 Cent is working on a song with British pop star and fellow perspective-free blowhard egomaniac Robbie Williams. This will mark the end of the absolutely hilarious rich-guy tiff the two got into a couple of years ago. (You will not regret reading that AllHipHop story.) 50 is also going to be producing movies, now...

-- Whoever picks bands for those iTunes Live Sessions deserves a beer. Thus far, the series of iTunes-only EPs has featured stalwarts like Spiritualized and Billy Bragg, and just last week, My Morning Jacket. And on February 3, San Franciscan noise-pop weirdos Deerhoof will drop their own Apple-endorsed short-player. It features live versions of...

A lot of people are in Washington, D.C., today, huh? I hear it's for the 28th anniversary of the inauguration of Ronald Reagan. San Francisco quartet Deerhoof were there last October, just a few days before hope and change returned to the galaxy, and while they were there, the unconventional rockers recorded another live video from the reliably ...

As 2008 comes to a close, downtown NYC institution the Knitting Factory is shutting the doors of its current location at 74 Leonard Street. Next year, the Knit will move to a brand new spot smack dab in the potentially more demographically-friendly climes of Brooklyn. To bid the fondest farewell they can muster, the dudes of Akron/Family have cu...
