The early returns on Morrissey’s current tour have been inauspicious, but even if Moz doesn’t manage to make his way to your city, he is out there, and even though he might not seem like the most reliable guy right now, his new album is coming out. Confirmation of both came last night at Boston [...]

This past weekend, at the Boston Calling festival, the Decemberists played their first show in nearly three years (not counting that Parks & Rec performance). After all that time away, it would be a fair bet that they’ve got new music in the works, and indeed, it looks like they might. During their set, the [...]

The Boston Calling Festival started last year, and this year’s edition, which comes to the city next month, boasts one of the most vanilla festival lineups we’re likely to see this year (which is some kind of achievement). But the festival is apparently successful enough that its organizers have added a second weekend later i...

Back in 2013, the Boston hardcore/metal legends Converge earned an Album Of The Week for their furious All We Love We Leave Behind. And though it’s not exactly common practice to drop a video a year and a half after the album comes out, Converge operate on their own timetable, and they’ve just shared an [...]

This summer’s Boston Calling festival appears to be one of the few big multi-day shows that OutKast won’t be headlining this year. Instead, Jack Johnson tops a bill that otherwise skews orthodox-indie. The festival, which had its inaugural edition last year, comes to City Hall Plaza 5/23-25, and the bill includes Death Cab Fo...
