A month ago, the gothed-out LA synth-punk duo Cold Cave released “She Reigns Down,” their first proper single since the 2021 mini-album Fate In Seven Lessons. It ruled. Today, Cold Cave have followed that single with another one, and the new one rules, too.

Cold Cave are getting busy! Two months ago, the great Los Angeles goth-punk vampires released the very good song “She Reigns Down,” their first new track in a couple of years. Last month, they followed it with another single called “Shadow Dance.” It seems like Cold Cave have decided to go the weird route ...

It’s been about three years since the ultra-goth synth-punk duo Cold Cave released their great mini-album Fate In Seven Lessons. Since then, Cold Cave have covered Psychic TV and toured with goth OGs like Depeche Mode and the Cult. Now, they’re back with their first new single in three years.

Gothed-out synth-punkers Cold Cave seem to operate on their own timetable. We won’t hear from them for years, and then they’ll suddenly pop up with a bunch of new bangers. They seem to be entirely done with releasing full-length albums — it’s been more than a decade since Cherish The Light Years —...

We here at Stereogum have been doing this here Album Of The Week column for nearly a decade now, and virtually every record that we’ve covered in this space has been an album.
