Jimmy Eat World: Promises both "angular, razor-sharp" and "dreamy" new album

Jimmy Eat World recently discussed their upcoming new album with Billboard. The record is titled Chase This Light and is due out October 16, 2007. It is the follow-up to Stay on My Side Tonight which was released in 2005.

According to producer Butch Vig (Against Me!, Nirvana): The record is quite eclectic, There are three or four songs that sound like classic Jimmy Eat World, with angular, razor-sharp guitars. There are a couple that are a lot more dreamy, and some that are very groove-acious. Anybody who is fan will like this record.

Jimmy Eat World will headline Koln's Gebaeude 9 on August 21st. Exclusive presale starts Friday morning at 00:01 local time. Tickets go on sale to the public Saturday night.

The post reads: "we have spent the last few days in LA tweaking on some 11th hour changes to the album. some whip-cracks, explosions, bells, glocks and the occasional reverse cymbal. wouldn't be cliche if it didn't work, right? seriously. i feel great about this. ...
