The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been cancelled for the past two years due to COVID, but they’re hoping that the third time’s the charm. The fest has just announced its 2022 lineup, which has plenty of overlap with the ill-fated 2020 and 2021 lineups, and as usual, the big names at the top of the poster have very little to do with jazz: the Who, Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Buffett, Luke Combs, Lionel Richie, the Black Crowes, Willie Nelson, Erykah Badu.

submitted by Nick Mar 1st 2023 06:00 pm (www.stereogum.com)
It’s possible that no band has ever abused the whole retirement-tour gimmick more than KISS. Yesterday was the NBA trade deadline, and a weird season got even weirder. The Brooklyn Nets’ owner, apparently acting out of frustration and pettiness, shipped his two superstars out of town and called it a day on the whole superteam thing. Russell Westbrook is now, finally, a man without a country. Various general managers threw all ...

submitted by Nick Feb 2nd 2023 03:00 pm (www.stereogum.com)
Last year, Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band announced massive tours of both Europe and North America. Tickets were expensive — up to $5,000 in some cases — and Springsteen himself addressed the complaints that followed: “I’m going, ‘Hey, why shouldn’t that money go to the guys that are going to ...
