Pavement: Watch Real Estate & Water From Your Eyes Cover Pavement In Atlanta
submitted by Nick 1 day 15 hours 31 mins ago (www.stereogum.com)
The utterly chill and dadded-out indie veterans Real Estate do not strike me as the most natural touring partners for the frenetic, experimental, nouveau-hip Water From Your Eyes. But the bands were on the road together this month, and one thing they apparently have in common is a love for Pavement. Onstage Sunday at Atlanta’s Variety ...

Pavement: Bumbershoot Announces 2024 Lineup, Topped By Pavement
submitted by Nick May 21st 2024 05:00 pm (www.stereogum.com)
Last September, I watched Pavement perform at the National’s Homecoming festival and wondered whether it would be the ’90s indie-rock icons’ last show ever after a reunion tour that spanned well over a year. The strange saga of Pavement’s Terror Twilight-era B-side “Harness Your Hopes” has taken another turn. Back in 1999, when it first appeared on Pavement’s Spit On A Stranger EP, the song was not a noteworthy part of the band’s catalog, but two decades years later, it somehow got caught up in Spoti...

Midtown: – “Cut Your Hair” (Pavement Cover)
submitted by Nick Apr 1st 2023 12:00 am (www.stereogum.com)
The new single from reunited pop-punk favorites Midtown‘s covers EP We’re Too Old To Write New Songs So Here’s Some Old Songs We Didn’t Write is a remake of Pavement’s Crooked Rain classic “Cut Your Hair.” If slacker-indie legends Pavement are not the first band you expect to ...

Pig: Lib Turns 20
submitted by Nick Mar 17th 2023 05:00 pm (www.stereogum.com)
Stephen Malkmus was throat-clearing. The Pavement frontman’s 2001 solo debut might as well have been a sixth LP from the band that made him an indie-rock legend; Pavement can even be found workshopping material from it in the Slow Century documentary. It’s a good album, but those quirky little guitar-pop songs were less like ...
